A New Age style junkie heaven ...
Imagine if Edie Sedgwick were to open up a shop - Celestine Eleven probably wouldn't be too far off the mark. A gorgeous mix of high-end fashion, arty tomes, green beauty brands and new age literature, crystals and remedies. Located in Shoreditch (of course) it's the perfect spot for the more sophisticated hipster who is more likely to wear Isabel Marant than traditional vintage garb found in a Dalston car boot sale (although there a few gems to be found there admittedly).
Even if your budget doesn't extend to luxury designer dresses or the latest botanical face cream (it is January after all) it's still a lovely place to pop in and admire if you find yourself in Shoreditch on a slow Sunday afternoon. Located slightly off the main road, it's not a tourist trap either.
The shop was founded by Tena Strok, who was a former stylist - so you know the fashion offering here is going to be top dollar. (Designers range from Penelope Chilvers, J.W. Anderson and Anne Sofie Madsen.) I was also pleased to discover they stock Dr. Jackson's skincare, which is a really stunning luxury range for both the girls and the boys (props to the unisex packaging) whose formulas incorporate rare natural extracts such as kigelia, baobab and marula oil.
Celestine Eleven is located at 4 Holywell Lane, London, EC2A 3ET (Nearest stations are Old Street and Shoreditch High Street, the latter being just across the road).
